Emperor Claudius is known for his campaigns into Britain, allowing a new set of Senators of Gallic origins and perhaps most notably for his ill chosen marriages of which the last was to Agrippina the Younger who assassinated him with a plate of mushrooms and placed her son Nero on the imperial throne.
