The villa will comfortably accommodate 10 - 20 persons with 7 bedrooms, 6 living rooms, bathrooms and kitchens. The converted stable in original Italy / Tuscany style, complete with fireplace, provides that extra medieval atmosphere and is ideal for dinners and relaxation as well as the optional cooking lessons. The villa, also known as "Podernovo" dates back to the second half of the 1700's. It is one of the most ancient buildings restored and maintained in the San Fabiano castle grounds. The area has always been dominated by agriculture and farming: The local wine "Bianco d'Arbia" is as well known as the local livestock and meat. The white truffles are also highly regarded by food lovers across Tuscany and Italy.
The local landscape features the river Arbia, the Siena hills and has since ancient times been an important stop along the via Cassia - an ancient Roman road leading from Rome, through Tuscany, Italy and all the way up to France.
During the Palio festivals you can soak up the athmosphere at the "contrada of La Torre" (the medieval Siena clan which the San Fabiano villa owners belong to).
From the San Fabiano villa you are within an easy reach of many other places of interest in Tuscany including Sant'Antimo and Monte Oliveto abbeys, Murlo, Montalcino with its fortress (not to mention the wine of exquisite quality renowned throughout Italy), Siena, San Gimignano, Castellina in Chianti, Pisa, Firenze, Cortona, Arezzo and the "Giostra del Saracino" (the Saracen) festival. In Siena you may well fall in love with Simone Martini's frescoes and enjoy a guided visit to the Duomo and the several world class museums.
